How long before an event should I book for this treatment?
If this is your first Vivace treatment, we recommend minimum 2 treatments, 4 weeks apart. Usually after the first treatment, you would know what the exact down time is (average a few days), so you could time your second treatment. For example, if your reaction only lasts a few days, you could organise your second treatment around 1 week before the event.
If this is not your first Vivace treatment, you could time it exactly according to your previous experience, but try not to book anything within 5-7 days of the event.
What Does the Vivace treatment feel like?
You will feel tiny pinpricks on your skin, followed by warmth. The device feels like a mini rubber stamp, that goes across your entire face (or desired treatment area).
Is Vivace painful?
Pain varies according to the indication being treated. Minor pain is experienced, this is usually eliminated with topical anaesthesia cream applied 30-45 minutes prior to treatment. Most patients can tolerate the treatment very well.
How often/far apart should treatments be?
Treatments are performed 4 weeks apart.
What can I expect with Vivace treatment?
Immediate redness, swelling is experienced by all patients, some with pin point bleeding.
This settles very quickly usually within 24-48 hours for a light treatment and up to 5-7 days for a more aggressive treatment.
How many sessions will I need to see results?
Most patients will see improvement even after 1 session, although generally we would generally recommend 3 treatments.
Is Vivace a safe treatment for darker skin?
Yes, radiofrequency and microneedling does not target the pigment, and can be used in darker skin types. It can be performed all season all year round.
Can I return to normal activities after Vivace treatment?
We suggest exercise and hot showers must be avoided for 48 hours following the treatment. (Gentle luke warm wash is recommended.) Day to day activities are generally not affected after the next day of treatment.
