Andrea McCarthy (RN) is a highly experienced Cosmetic Dermatology nurse.
Andrea’s passion for treating skin began during her time as wound care nurse within one of Melbourne’s largest wound care clinics. During this time, she developed an excellent understanding of the anatomy and function of skin. Andrea made the move from complex wound care to specialist Dermatology 5 years ago. The move into Dermatology felt like a natural progression enabling her to further expand her knowledge and ability to improve skin health.
Andrea specializes in minimally invasive procedures to treat conditions such as acne, pigmentation, premature aging, and rosacea. Extensive training and experience with a variety of energy-based devices such as the Pico-way, V-Beam, Vascular laser, Fine wire diathermy, Venus Viva, Skin Pen and the Ultraformer enables Andrea to create custom treatment plans tailored to each individual’s specific needs.
What Andrea values most about cosmetic dermatology is the ongoing, trusting relationships she builds with her clients, and seeing how much addressing and improving her patients skin care problems increases their confidence and self-esteem.
Andrea has an honest and dedicated approach to providing the absolute best nursing care to our patients. She is committed to continuous professional development which increases her knowledge base to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based care. She is a regular attendee at Dermatology conferences, has engaged in advanced laser training courses, and has completed Allergan’s training in muscle relaxant injections.
