Bioremodelling Treatment

Melbourne Eastside Dermatology is Melbourne’s premium specialist dermatology practice providing Bioremodelling treatments.

In Australia, due to TGA regulation, we are unable to advertise the specific medication utilised for this treatment.

What is bioremodelling treatment?

Bioremodelling treatment involves direct injection in the superficial layer of the skin.  The product then stimulates collagen formation under the skin over a period of weeks and months.

The end result of collagen formation is the improvement of skin texture and luminosity.  It is not seen as a treatment to replace the volume loss of the skin; Rather, it is the quality and hydration of the skin that improves following the skin stimulatory effect of this treatment.

How is bioremodelling treatment performed?

Bioremodelling treatment is achieved with small amount of the active material directly placed with needle treatment under the skin.  It is generally achieved for cheek and chin rejuvenation with only 10 small injection points.

It is a very tolerable procedure that can be performed under 15 minutes.

Bioremodelling Treatment

Melbourne Eastside Dermatology is Melbourne’s premium specialist dermatology practice providing Rejuran polynucleotide treatments.  This is one of the most popular treatments in Korea.

In Australia, only qualified medical doctors are able to prescribe the use of this medication for cosmetic purposes.  Nurse injectors require the prescription and treatment plans / supervision of medical doctors to perform these injections.

What is Bioremodelling?

This is a new class of treatment (2023) with the concept that the treatment causes remodelling and formation of the skin collagen under the skin.

How is this performed?

The treatment involves direct placement of bioremodelling material under the skin, usually with a 10 point injection technique (that can be modified according to need) across the cheeks, jaw and chin area.

Some practitioners also treat neck and other areas.

How many sessions do I require?

We generally recommend 2 sessions, 1 month apart to start with, and follow this up every 6-12 months thereafter.

Is treatment painful?

This generally does not require topical anaesthesia, although some patients do find this helpful and may request for this. The actual treatment is performed usually under 10 minutes.

Is there any downtime?

Mild swelling is seen immediately after the treatment, and this would resolve within a day or so.  Almost all patients return to work or social activities the next day.

Is this safe?

All cosmetic therapies carry inherent risk.  This particular class of treatment is known to be one of the safest treatments to undergo as the placement of material is in the superficial layer of the skin.

Is this a safe treatment for Asian or darker skin?

Yes this is safe for all skin colour types – being darker skin does not confer any additional risk.

What is the cost of treatment?

We do not publish the cost of treatment online.  This is in the ballpark figure similar to other skin booster or polynucleotide injection.
